The aim of this study is to examine the capacities of Sadrean action theory in reinterpreting the method of philosophical counseling. The research method is descriptive‑analytical and based on content analysis (including coding, critique, and conceptualization). Its main problem is to explain the potentials of Sadrean action theory for the philosophical counseling approach. The findings indicate that Lahav’s theory emphasizes analytical, critical, and phenomenological methods, incorporating elements such as dialectical tension between limited and liberating patterns, incompatible presuppositions, depth‑language, and entering into human reality. The critiques raised against Lahav’s view regarding the “surrounding” and “depth” include “misinterpretation of the surrounding” and “overgeneralization in relating the client’s problem to philosophical theory.” The Sadrean approach, with its emphasis on an objective understanding of the surrounding and the necessity of aligning beliefs with immaterial forms, seeks to discover immaterial truths and resolve linguistic deviations. This approach, while addressing the aforementioned critiques, assists the client—through identifying the dimensions of the problem and underlying presuppositions, and through the tension between imaginary and rational assumptions—in shaping and elevating their worldview and existential breadth toward intellectual degrees, ultimately reaching the stage of acquired intellect.
